Weekend Family Receipe: Fresh fish Pepper Soup

Fish or chicken pepper soup is a great starter and light dinner for the entire family. Fish Pepper soup is filled with various nutrients and you can decide on the protein you want with it from catfish to croaker or tilapia fish


The Ingredients are:

  • 1 whole Tilapia/croaker  (gutted, cleaned and cut)
  • 1 table spoon pepper soup spice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon bitter leaf
  • 1 tablespoon scent leaf
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped onions
  • 2 cube maggi
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil (optional)


  • Season the Tilapia with very little, maggi cubes, garlic and ginger powder, add about 3 table spoons of water. simmer on low heat until the fish is thoroughly cooked (About 15 minutes). Set aside to cool
  • Bring the 3 cups of water to a boil, add in all the left over ingredients. reduce the heat to medium Taste and adjust the  mix for seasoning. Add in the cooked fish. Simmer for another 5 mins.

Enjoy pepper soup as lunch or supper or any starter

Did You Know: Your pepper soup will have a bitter taste if you use too much of the peppersoup spice blend. To rectify this simply add more water to the broth
