Kenneth Okonkwo is a famous Nollywood actor, director, producer, television personality, entrepreneur, investor, politician and a philanthropist. He was born on 6th November, 1965 in Nsukka, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He completed his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing his secondary school education, Kenneth Okonkwo proceeded to University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He later went further to obtain a Masters Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
In 1991, he joined the Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) and started attending movies auditions and appearing in television series and soap opera. In 1992, he rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage” a movie that brought Nollywood to limelight. He is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and contributed immensely to the growth of Nollywood in Nigeria and abroad.
After obtaining his Masters Degree from the University of Lagos, he went on to study Theology at the Nigerian Bible School and was trained as a bible scholar and Minister of God. In 2000, he, got married to Ogechi Ezekiel. His marriage to her lasted for two years and ended up in divorce in 2002 due to a misunderstanding which could not be resolved.
In 2007, he got married to Ifeoma Okonkwo. The couple had to wait for nine years before welcoming their first child. After being married for nine solid years, he and his wife Ifeoma Okonkwo had their first child on May 7th 2016.
Kenneth Okonkwo is currently one of the richest and most influential actor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $5 million. Recently, he made his aspirations to the public to become the governor of Enugu state. He hasn’t however declared the party he’ll be running under. Kenneth tries to keep his family on the low profile and away from the prying eyes of social media.
