The act of Incest is a sexual activity between family members or close relatives. This typically includes sexual activity between people in a consanguineous relationship (blood relations), and sometimes those related by affinity, stepfamily, those related by adoption or marriage, or members of the same Clan or lineage.
Incest should never be encouraged no matter the tribe, religion or culture. A strong parenting background is important in ensuring young kids get it right as early as possible.
An 11-year-old girl has given birth to a baby fathered by her 14-year-old brother in a hospital in Spain.
The new mum was impregnated by her brother when he was only 13. The girl, who is originally from Bolivia, had no idea she was pregnant and neither did her family. She was admitted to hospital with “stomach pains” but it turned out she was about to have her baby.
The 11-year-old girl gave birth at Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia, south east Spain on Friday, February 2nd, 2018. Both mum and baby are said to be “doing well”. Shortly after the birth hospital authorities alerted police and social services to investigate the circumstances of the pregnancy.
In 2013 Spain raised the age of consent from 13 to 16 but an exception is made if the sex is consensual when the boy is of similar age or stage of development and maturity. Because of the young age of the boy, charges are unlikely to be made unless the sex was non-consensual.
The Minister of Health of Murcia, Manuel Villegas, said the case was “exceptional”. DNA tests will be carried out on the baby to verify who the father is.
